NEEBOR Conference emphasized safety and security in cross border cooperation |

The 4th Annual Conference of NEEBOR (the Network of Eastern External Border Regions) was held in Joensuu 9th-11th September. This year the theme of the conference was safer and economically more balanced border region. The general aim of the network is to create collaboration among the regions in the eastern external borderline of the European Union.

|
Euroopan unionin ENPI –rahoitusohjelmaan (European Neighbourhood and Partnership Instrument) liittyvissä neuvotteluissa on otettu tärkeä askel eteenpäin. Kesäkuussa -09 Hämeenlinnassa järjestettiin Euroopan komission, Venäjän ja ohjelmiin osallistuvien valtioiden tapaaminen. Venäjän neuvottelijat lupasivat, että rahoitussopimus allekirjoitetaan Venäjän puolelta lokakuun alussa, viimeistään Brysselissä järjestettävän Open Days –tapahtuman yhteydessä. Allekirjoitusten jälkeen sopimus täytyy vielä ratifioida Venäjän duumassa. |
